First thing in Monday I need to get my computer access. While I was gone they wiped it -- my favorites with sites to things is gone. Worse, not only is my password disabled, my domain account has be disabled.
I call the IT (spit! Blah!) ... they first want my ID, a minute plus message saying try using the Intranet first (As if would we would even use them on telephone if you had no choice!) First tree, about minutes wasted talk to a real person. A ten second silent pause so you would think you had been dropped and quit. "You time is worthless, wait for 5 minutes or a hour before we will talk to you...." Finally get a person. Yeah yeah, I know you are useless, you will connect me to INDIA. WHY is it called a "HELP DESK"? They are NOT Helpful. I get connected, a horrid connection with echo and noise and low levels etc. that would *not* have been acceptable in the '70's. He mumbles something about the group that I needed a hour ago, gives me a ticket number, claim my account will be working in 30 minutes to 8 hours.
Repeated the same call Tuesday, yeah, still 24 hours later and my account is disabled.
Wednesday I did real work.
Thursday, same call, now over 72 hours after that "up to 8 hour" wait. Finally late Thursday my account is working. Friday I will be able access my e-mail.
