No Class
It's true -- I have no class.
Years ago we were cleaning out old boxes and came across three small trolls. The girls thought they were, ummm, I don't know. But they were going to toss them into the trash so I rescued them and took them to work. One was affixed to the dashboard of my truck to ward off evil spirits, gremlins, while the other two stood guard over my desk.
A year or so later the two on the desk were joined by a third troll, a bit smaller, with snarls in his hair. Where he came from I do not know. No one claimed responsibility, I didn't ask. I gave up questioning where things originate that appear on my desk.
A year or so later I got my Suzuki Savage. Others' have gremlin bells on their bikes. I have a troll that was given to me anonymously. He stands on my front fender fearlessly facing forward. He is mounted on a magnet. Wendy said "good -- makes it easy for someone to steal him." I replied, "How much do you want to bet no one will?"

BIG book, little disk
Wendy got her '03 Beetle quite a while ago. But it is still a "new" car as she still has the temporary paper taped to the windshield.
The girls have their learner permits and are in driving school. So we got a second Beetle, an '04 with an automatic transmission. Given two Beetles, given that I do not want to pay the dealer $40 to change a lightbulb again, Wendy went an got the Volkswagen Official Factory Repair Manual -- on a CD-ROM. Now we HAVE to get me a laptop so we can read the manual while outside working on the cars.

Strange Wireless
December, 2003, I set up Wendy's boss family with DSL using a 2Wire modem/rounter/wireless hub. The router is connected to Shannon via Ethernet, and to Virgil and Elaine via Netgear wireless-USB adapters.
Elaine couldn't connect. Wireless status on her laptop said it was connected to the hub. Looking at the hub from Virgil's computer the hub said no, Elaine was not connected. Swapped Wireless adapters between Virgil and Elaine. Now everybody is working.
Strange......

Nuts for Mutts
Today we went to Nuts for Mutts. Pepper was entered in fastest mutt and best shepherd mix. She qualified for the finals in both classes, but didn't win either. There was heavy competition.
