Avalon, California

Arrived at work Monday, John asked if I wanted to go to Catalina. He had the ticket, but he also had to meet with a contractor and Doug declined the call-out and there was no one else.

*SIGH*

So the Boss gets me a two way ticket with an 8:30 boarding time. I gather up the boxed replacement switch, box up some tools, bungee to my lightweight handcart and drive to the Catalina Express terminal in San Pedro. Pick up my ticket, and wait to board the boat. Leaving San Pedro, rounding the lighthouse on the end of the breakwater, you can see Catalina 23 miles across the see.

Leaving the Central Office I head back to the dock to catch the return boat. Departs at 3:45 pm. I am supposed to get off work at 3:30 pm.

I wish my job sent me to Catalina occasionally. My job only sends me to the lunatic asylum.

Yeah, really! Sheesh! Maybe if you're REALLY unlucky they'll send you to Hawaii next. :)
